Will Heyburn is Co-CEO and Chief Financial Officer of Strata. He is also one of our directors and previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Development of our predecessor company, Blade Air Mobility, which he joined in 2018.

Prior to Strata, he was a Vice President of RedBird Capital Partners, a principal investment firm focused on providing long-term capital in growth equity, build-up and structured equity investments.

Prior to RedBird, Will was an Associate in the U.S. Credit Division of Oak Hill Advisors, L.P., where he focused on high-yield and distressed credit investments in Aerospace, Retail and Industrial companies.

He began his career as an Analyst at Moelis and Company where he worked primarily on restructuring transactions including American Airlines’ bankruptcy and subsequent merger with U.S Airways.

Will received an A.B. in Government from Harvard University, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in men’s swimming.

Melissa Tomkiel is Strata's Co-CEO and General Counsel and serves on Strata’s board of directors. Previously, Melissa served as President and General Counsel of our predecessor company,  Blade Air Mobility, which she joined in 2015. 

Prior to Strata, Melissa was co-founder and President of Fly The Whale, a commuter air carrier operating amphibious seaplanes and rotorcraft in the Northeast United States and the Caribbean. Melissa began her career as an attorney at the law firm Pryor Cashman in New York City. 

In 2022, Melissa was appointed by the US Secretary of Transportation to serve on the Federal Aviation Administration’s Advanced Aviation Advisory Committee.

Melissa has a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law where she was a St. Thomas More Scholar and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame where she double majored in Government and American Studies and was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Society.

Amir Cohen is Strata’s Chief Accounting & Integration Officer, having built the company’s accounting organization from the ground up through its transition from private to public, and leading key components of the passenger-business carve-out.

Prior to joining Strata,, Amir held senior finance roles across WPP’s agencies and at WPP’s global headquarters, after serving as a manager at PwC. Amir holds an MBA from NYU Stern and is a CPA.

Mathew Schneider has served as VP Finance and Investor Relations since April 2024 and CFO of Strata's Clinical Services business since October 2025.

Prior to Strata, Mat served as a senior analyst at Holocene Advisors L.P. and an analyst at Glenhill Capital L.P focusing on the Industrial sector. Prior to Glenhill Capital L.P., Mat served as a Vice President in Morgan Stanley's equity research division and an Associate in UBS's equity research division.

Mat has a B.A. in Finance from the University of Maryland and is a CFA® Charterholder.

Hunter Senning is Strata's Vice President of Aviation, managing our fleet of more than 35 owned, dedicated, and third-party aircraft and all new strategic aircraft acquisitions.

Hunter joined our predecessor company, Blade Air Mobility, in 2016. He originally served as Blade's Manager of Fixed Wing operations, focused on managing a dynamic flight department of short-notice jet charter flights. In 2019, he was critical to the launch of Blade's MediMobility division with NYU as a flagship customer and leveraged the relationships he built in the part-135 jet charter space to build out a time-critical network of fixed-wing and rotorcraft aircraft necessary to support organ transplant missions.

Scott Wunsch is the CEO of Strata’s Logistics business. In 2018, Scott joined Trinity Medical Solutions (which was later acquired by Strata in 2021) after 13 years at LifeCenter Northwest, the largest geographic OPO in the country, servicing Alaska, Washington, northern Idaho and Montana. At LifeCenter, Scott served as vice president of clinical operations, managing overall operations and logistics.

Scott’s experience is an asset to both Strata’s Logistics and Clinical businesses, both of which work closely with OPOs and transplant centers across the country to provide the best logistics and transportation solutions to maximize the gift of life.

Louis Verdetto is the CEO of Strata’s Clinical Services business. He is a Cardiovascular Perfusionist by training and has spent his career building and scaling clinician-led healthcare services.

In April 2013, Louis founded Keystone Perfusion Services, LLC after recognizing a need for dependable, high-quality perfusion coverage supported by strong clinical leadership. He grew Keystone from a startup into a multi-state operation by focusing on disciplined execution, building strong local teams, and using M&A tuck-in acquisitions as a core growth strategy. 

To complement his clinical background, Louis returned to school to earn his MBA, strengthening his ability to lead complex organizations, evaluate acquisitions, and integrate new service lines. Keystone’s growth and performance ultimately led to its acquisition by Strata Critical Medical, where Louis continues to lead the company’s clinical care service lines. 

Louis is a native of Northeast Pennsylvania and now resides in Charleston, South Carolina.

Michael Hancock is Strata’s Vice President of Organ Recovery. In 2012, Michael played a foundational role in the inception of Keystone Perfusion Services, working closely with Louis Verdetto to provide locum tenens perfusion coverage while simultaneously developing full-service perfusion programs throughout the Northeast. Under his leadership, Keystone grew into one of the nation’s leading perfusion staffing providers, supporting many of the country’s top cardiac surgery and ECMO programs.

Beyond staffing, Michael spearheaded Keystone’s global ECMO patient rescue initiative, partnering with air ambulance providers and health systems to safely repatriate critically ill patients on ECMO back to the United States. This program leveraged Keystone’s experienced clinicians to ensure continuity of care and safe international transport.

In 2022, Michael led the Keystone team in launching the Organ Recovery Service Line, with a focus on advancing Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) for organ donors nationwide. Working closely with Dr. Scott Silvestry, Shannon Barletti, and Alex Chappell, he expanded Keystone’s transplant capabilities to include comprehensive thoracic and abdominal surgical organ recovery services for Organ Procurement Organizations and Transplant Centers.

Today, the Organ Recovery Service Line at Strata stands as the premier third-party provider of comprehensive organ recovery solutions, offering NRP and machine perfusion support to more than 60 organizations across the transplant community. Michael and the Strata team remain focused on expanding OPO and transplant center partnerships while advancing the field of transplantation—recovering more organs and improving outcomes for patients on the transplant waitlist.

Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, in 2006, and went on to complete Cardiovascular Perfusion training at Cooper University Hospital, graduating in 2009. Following graduation, he returned to Cooper as a staff perfusionist, where he also served as Co-Director of the Perfusion School—reflecting his long-standing passion for perfusion education and clinical training.

Christie Campbell serves as Strata’s Vice President of Cardiac Care, where she brings nearly 20 years of perfusion experience and a strong operational leadership background. She oversees nationwide clinical operations while driving organizational infrastructure initiatives focused on scalable systems, process improvement, and long-term growth. 

Christie’s work bridges clinical excellence with strategic execution, supporting both patient care and business performance. She is known for building strong teams and fostering a culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.

Christie holds a Bachelor of Science from Carlow University, a Perfusion Technology Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and an MBA.

Eric Moore is Strata’s Vice President of Software Development. 

Eric oversees IT infrastructure, application development, security compliance, and AI initiatives across the Strata organization. His current focus includes leading the technical integration of acquired healthcare systems and implementing enterprise security initiatives. 

Eric brings over 20 years of experience leading and scaling enterprise technology teams across big tech and venture capital-backed organizations and his background spans technology strategy, enterprise software development, and building high-performing engineering teams.

Dr. Scott Silvestry

Chief Surgeon

Dr. Scott C. Silvestry is Strata’s Chief Surgeon. He is a nationally recognized cardiothoracic surgeon and physician leader with deep expertise in advanced heart failure surgery, heart and lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and donor organ recovery innovation. At Strata, Scott provides clinical leadership, surgeon engagement, and strategic oversight for next-generation organ procurement and perfusion services.

Dr. Silvestry is the Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Jack Copeland Endowed Chair at the University of Arizona.

Throughout his career, Dr. Silvestry has built and led comprehensive programs in heart transplantation, durable and temporary mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, and complex cardiac surgery. He is widely recognized for advancing care at the intersection of surgery, systems design, and technology adoption—particularly in donation after circulatory death (DCD), normothermic regional perfusion (NRP), and emerging organ preservation platforms.

At Strata, Dr. Silvestry focuses on developing clinically rigorous, ethically grounded, and operationally scalable recovery models. He works closely with surgeons, perfusionists, OPO leadership, and transplant centers nationwide to standardize best practices, improve organ utilization, and support high-quality outcomes across diverse donor environments.

Dr. Silvestry is a prolific academic author, peer reviewer, and invited speaker, with publications spanning heart failure surgery, transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and donor management. He has mentored surgeons and multidisciplinary teams nationally and internationally and is known for a pragmatic, surgeon-first approach to innovation—ensuring that new technologies are clinically sound, operationally feasible, and aligned with the realities of transplant care delivery.
